Design &
Layout

As a long time supplier to OGM Spaceway were called in to assist in the design and layouts of the new factory and the main area that required detailed attention was the crane and structural steelwork to support it. Not only did the steelwork have to support the crane but we also designed it with integral walkways and flooring so that products that supplied the machines in the factory area below could be stored on it.

After various in depth discussions with OGM and there partner engineering consultants a design was agreed and Spaceway was awarded the task of manufacturing and installing the steelwork and crane.

The first critical exercise was to mark out the floor where all the support columns were to land as due to the weight of the structure piling was a requirement

Once the piling was completed the steelwork was then delivered and assembled on site in phases, there was also a lot of onsite welding and fabrication to take into account due to the complexity of the design. Once the supporting steelwork was installed a new Demag crane was loaded on to the rails.

The overall installation provided OGM with the state of the art facility they required and provided a showroom for all clients to come in and see.

We have a great relationship with Spaceway, we have dealt with them on numerous projects, they are now one of our long term suppliers. having fitted out our factory in Yarnton with mezzanines, cleanrooms, racking, partitioning and a crane they are now a trusted partner.

They have also completed a large project in our new South Wales facility and I have just recently asked them to return once more to add to the cleanroom in Oxford with an additional large AHU for improved performance of our ISO 7 high quality assembly facility.
