About the project
A truly stunning office fit out for Basingstoke firm Antalis was the result of many hours of hard work by the design team at Spaceway.
Antalis is the largest European group in the distribution of communications support materials, and is the distribution arm of the Arjo Wiggins Appleton Paper Group which was formed from the merger of Arjomari and Wiggins-Teape.
It was during the various mergers and acquisitions that Antalis needed to establish a new European headquarters based in central southern England.
The building had to be impressive as it was to be used as the company’s group headquarters as well as for major client presentations. Once the building in Basingstoke was secured, the company set about establishing a project team to design and build the office interiors to the required international style.
Antalis selected London-based international architects Tilney-Shane to work with its incumbent fit out company, Spaceway.
Spaceway worked closely with the client’s team to ensure that only the very best products and materials were used to meet its expectations of an international style HQ.
The partitioning was specified as frameless glass and fitted full height to maximise the natural daylight. The modern and stylish look was complimented by wenge veneer solid timber full height doors and glass tables. The project included open plan and executive offices, a conference room, board room, break out areas and even a gym. Bespoke joinery items were also designed and manufactured to match with the stylish Italian ‘Fantoni’ furniture systems.

The project was on a tight timescale as we had staff from different buildings all coming to this one, however Spaceway managed to complete it just in time and we were all very impressed with the final job”.
