The Challenge
Liz Earle Beauty Co. faced increasing pressure to consolidate multiple buildings on the island and streamline their operations. The goal was to increase the storage capacity of their existing warehouse while maintaining daily operations during the redesign and installation.
Solution
To address their needs, we worked with Liz Earle to reconfigure their warehouse layout, maximising storage efficiency while ensuring minimal disruption.
Increased Storage Capacity:
The original layout, designed for a reach truck operation with 3m-wide aisles, was reconfigured to accommodate 2.1m-wide aisles using specialised narrow-aisle Flexi trucks. This modification increased their pallet storage capacity from 2,000 to over 3,000 positions.
Relocation of Packing Operations:
To free up valuable floor space, we relocated the packing operation to a newly installed mezzanine floor. The mezzanine was fitted with ergonomic Eco Tile flooring, providing a fatigue-reducing, comfortable, and professional workspace for employees.
Carefully Phased Implementation:
Since the warehouse needed to remain operational throughout the project, a phased installation plan was developed. This allowed us to complete the work without disrupting their daily operations.
