Spaceway is delighted to announce its latest video case study is now available to view here on its website’s case study page. Featuring the stunning office transformation for our client, Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL), the video takes you on a guided tour around the recently refurbished office following the company’s decision to relocate its headquarters to Southampton and confirming its place as one of the leading players in the cruising industry.
NCL has over 22 years of cruising history behind it and is the parent company of Prestige Cruises, American Cruise Lines and Regency Seven Seas. Its enviable reputation has seen it voted Europe’s leading cruise line ten years in a row by the World Travel Awards.
Being able to bring all its brands under one roof was a key requirement for the client, so it was essential that Spaceway designed a workspace which would facilitate NCL’s objectives to centralise its operations, increase synergies and nurture working relationships.
Speaking about the project, Dominic O’Brien, Director at Spaceway, said: “This was a bold move for NCL, relocating a 600-strong team and creating an environment which would allow for clear internal communications and the ability to be reshaped and restructured as the brands grow and develop over time, is no easy task. Spaceway was its chosen partner due to our ability to offer proactive design advice right from the start of the project and our ability to create an open and flowing office space.”
With a clear vision and specific brief in mind, Spaceway undertook the project of creating the illusion of being onboard one of Norwegian Cruise Lines’ award-winning ships. The office comprises a combination of executive suites, meeting rooms, conference facilities, printing areas and 600 open-plan desks. The conference centre can accommodate up to 30 people and has a partitioning door to allow the space to be sectioned into two smaller areas.
What really stood out for the client was Spaceway’s attention to detail and its proactive design suggestions, from the trophy cabinets which house model cruise liners, down to the boat-shaped tables and meeting pods. In addition, a feature glass partitioning system was installed, adding to the sleekness of the project and finished with bespoke transfers to complete the look.
Spaceway’s Head of Marketing, Gary Trudgett, said: “We are exceptionally proud of this uniquely designed project and it is a true testament to how well the team at Spaceway collaborates and communicates with its clients and third parties. Being such a visual transformation, it was fitting to create a video highlighting all the special design features which make this such a great workspace.
“We know that video is becoming an increasing part of online content consumption, YouTube has over one billion subscribers and thanks to faster internet speeds, online videos have exploded all over the internet. With this in mind, our case study videos have been designed to watch on the go and accessible across all mobile devices. If they say a picture paints a thousand words, then a video must be worth a million.”
