Mezzanine floors are now used for a wide-range of functions including mezzanine offices, storage, work platforms, manufacturing space, catwalk structures and observation platforms, office and retail space, bin and rack support and archive storage.
Mezzanine floor heights are easily accommodated in buildings with a clear height of 5m or more. it is possible to fit a mezzanine floor into buildings with heights of as little as 4.6m by adapting the main steels and joists to a slimline grid design but it is always best to give Spaceway a call to discuss your specific requirements.
Spaceway mezzanine floors can be constructed with wide span grids of up to 14m in some instances which can result in clients being able to use the area under the mezzanine floor for its original purpose whilst using the space on their new mezzanine to meet the new space requirements or alternatively this area can also be utilised to create additional offices, meeting rooms, breakout areas, etc.
They can blend into the original structure and once constructed are virtually indistinguishable. All on site services needed to ensure the functioning of the new area such as cabling and electricity can be easily installed during construction.
Depending on the headroom available, Spaceway can install multi-tier mezzanine floors that take full advantage of the cubic space available. Although in most cases Planning Permission is not required, Spaceway will deal with any local authority building regulations and ensure the installation meets requirements such as Disability Regulations (DDA), Part B (Fire Regulations) and Part L (Energy Conservation).
