When Spaceway was recommended to supply equipment for ‘The Coldest Journey’ they jumped at the chance to sponsor the unique, 2000 mile winter expedition to cross the Antarctic.
The Coldest Journey led by Sir Ranulph Fiennes is set to raise over $10 million for Seeing is Believing, the international charitable initiative which aims to eliminate avoidable blindness and visual impairment across the world.
The expedition team had to deal with permanent darkness as well exposure to sub freezing temperatures close to -90c, but the ‘Ice Team’ made it to take this great photo for us.
Spaceway helped with donating specialist bott engineering workbenches, which were used to safely and securely store scientific instruments that would also help with collecting unique scientific research for climatologists whilst they were on The Coldest Journey.
Spaceway also donated 3no high specification cabinets, along with a wide range of accessories such as inserts and partitions.
“It’s the first time we have ever got involved with a project like this and thoroughly enjoyed it”, said Dominic O’Brien, Sales Director at Spaceway South Ltd.
