About the project

Hampshire mezzanine floor specialist Spaceway, were on hand to help Southampton Boat Show sponsors, PSP with a storage problem.

Project summary

Fast Expanding boat transportation and freight forwarding company PSP of Fareham, Hampshire, recently purchased the freehold of their building and required additional space to cope with their strategic growth – both for offices and operations.

PSP went out to a number of companies to get ideas on how to achieve this along with finding someone who they could work with and trust to provide a good return on their investment.

Spaceway were one of the companies that PSP approached and the soon provided a number of mezzanine floor based options that could provide the additional space that PSP required and keep the costs within budget.

Spaceway designed a mezzanine floor with a wide span grid and much taller columns than standard this enabled PSP to store large crates under the mezzanine floor easily.

The first floor used the full potential of the available headroom for future office expansion.

Pallet safety gates were fitted at first floor to provide access and safety for goods being loaded onto the first floor of the mezzanine area.

Also steel staircases and balustrades were fitted for staff access and safety to mezzanine floor level.

The installation was carried out on a fast track basis, including obtaining building regulations approvals.
