Stainless Steel and Glass Balustrades

A staircase can be a significant design feature to the entrance of a commercial building or office.
The Spaceway range of balustrade designs are available in stainless steel or powder coated rails and glass or high tension wire in fills to make a very modern and stylish looking stairs.

The most popular design is our standard balustrade, fabricated from either 45mm or 50mm diameter tube and 10mm clear glass infill panels.

The glass panels are each mounted on clips which are in turn welded to uprights.

Base fixing can be flanges or diamond drilled and grouted.

For fixing into concrete we use chemical anchors.

Fixings to steel are by nut and bolt, holes are drilled using a magnetic drill.

Mezzanine Staircase Design

Spaceway design and install fully compliant staircases to compliment mezzanine floor installations.

The Spaceway staircase range is comprehensive, from mezzanine floor industrial stairs to top end stainless steel and glass balustrade designer staircase to suit a client reception area. Spaceway also design and install galvanised external fire escape staircases.

Staircase design is covered by the following British Standards:-

BS5395: Part 1, BS5395: Part 3 and BS5950: Part 5.

General guidance on staircase design is also contained within the Approved Document K of the Building Regulations. Additionally, all staircase designs are required to conform to Approved Document M of the Building Regulations.

Document M of the Building Regulations takes into account the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 (DDA).

Part M Regulations take precedence over those of Part K.

For consideration of means of escape in the event of fire, reference should be made to Approved Document B of the Building Regulations.
